Changes to Belfast, Camden Hills football schedules

Fri, 08/30/2019 - 1:15pm

ROCKPORT and BELFAST — Changes to high school football schedules around the state have been made since the schedules were first made available, including to the schedules of two area teams.

The Camden Hills football team will indeed play a full slate of regular season games this season, after only having seven regular season games on the schedule, plus an exhibition game against Oceanside that was eventually called off.

The Windjammers will now open the regular season Friday, Sept. 6 on the road against Old Town at 7 p.m.

That week had previously been listed as a bye week for the Windjammers with the season opener previously slated for Sept. 13 in Rockport.

Old Town was originally scheduled to play against Mount Desert Island on Sept. 6, though the teams have moved the contest to Sept. 20. Mount Desert Island was slated to play Orono on Sept. 20, though Orono recently announced they will not field a varsity team this season.

For the Belfast football team, the Lions are now set to host Stearns on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.

The news was first reported by MaineHighSchoolFootball.com, who received updates concerning six football games from Mount Desert Island head football coach Mark Arnold.
