Carl ‘Rusty’ Moore III, obituary
ROCKLAND — Carl "Rusty" Moore III, 52, died Oct. 8, 2013, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, following a long illness.
Born in Rockland April 11, 1961, he was the son of Carl R. Jr. and Helen M. Holbrook Moore. He was educated in local schools.
In earlier years Rusty worked at various jobs before beginning employment at Rockland Leathers. He worked at Rockland Leathers more than seven years, until that company closed.
On Jan. 8, 1983, he married Cindy Kalloch in Rockland. The couple made their home in Rockland, and together had one daughter, Cassie Mae.
Rusty later moved to Dover, N.H., where he worked at an auto parts manufacturing facility. Ultimately, he returned to Rockland, where he has since resided.
Disabled for the past several years, Rusty has appreciated and been blessed by the care and assistance of his cousin, Shawneen Sansom, and special friends Hayden Peters and Melinda Barstow.
He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, appreciated classic rock and was the consummate barbecue grill master. He particularly loved his cat, Loco.
Other than his parents, Rusty was predeceased by two brothers, Sheldon "Skip" Cushing and Raymond Dow; a nephew, Raymond "Badger" Dow Jr.; and a niece, Jessica Nichols. He is survived by his step-mother, Gail Moore of Bath; his daughter, Cassie M. Moore of Portland; his sister, Carla R. Nichols and her husband, Terry, of Waldoboro; step-sister, Carolyn Matter and her husband, Ed, of New Jersey; two brothers and their wives, Alan and Anne Dow of Westbrook and Forrest "Butch" and Natalie Moore of Maryland; a nephew, Brandon Nichols; two nieces, Alexis Dow and Melissa Blastow; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
No services will be held at this time.
