Camden tries new traffic flow around Rawson Ave., Ames Terrace
CAMDEN — Camden is establishing a new traffic pattern in an experiment to help with traffic flow at the intersection of Rawson Ave. and Ames Terrace, a residential part of town.
Beginning Monday, June 14, traffic traveling along Rawson Ave. onto Ames Terrace will no longer have to stop.
Traffic traveling from the bridge area on Rawson Ave. will be the only traffic require to stop before entering the intersection of Rawson Ave. and Ames Terrace.
The change is due to the Rawson Ave. bridge being closed to vehicular traffic, and which will mostly likely remained closed for good, according to a news release from the Camden Police Dept.
“This is an experimental change to see if it helps with traffic flow in that area,” said Police Chief Randy Gagne, in a release. “The speed limit is 25 mph and we ask that motorists please obey this limit. Officers will be monitoring the area during this transitional period.”
