ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills varsity boys soccer team extended its winning streak Tuesday, Sept. 6 against Mt. Blue at home.

Camden Hills controlled the game en route to their second win of the season, a 3-0 victory over the visiting Cougars of Farmington.

Jordan Peasely (assisted by Max Welt) opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a blast from outside the 18 that found the back of the net.

Quinn Riordan would double the lead at the 40th minute with a well placed header off of a Charlie Pons feed.

Welt would put the game well out of reach in the second half with a first time strike from Noah Teel one minute into the second half.

The Windjammers’ put 28 shots on the Mt. Blue goal while Mt. Blue mustered six shots on the day. The Jammers’ also held the edge in corner kicks 6-0.

Brian Leonard and Eben Weislogel combined to get the shutout in net for the 'Jammer, each with three saves, while James Stinson turned in a huge performance for Mt. Blue stopping 15 shots.

Opening day combined with the first day of school always makes for an increase in the challenge level and we rose to the occasion. We did well keeping the ball and limiting Mt. Blue's opportunities, it's great to be 2-0 on the season and we will have to play our best against a really good Bangor team on Friday.
