ROCKPORT — In its third contest of the season, the Camden Hills varsity boys soccer team collected a 2-0 victory Friday, Sept. 17 over Hampden Academy at home in Rockport.

Evan Constantine and Charlie Pons each scored for the Windjammers near the end of the first half, and nearly added a third tally in the second half on a Cam Brown penalty kick.

The 'Jammers held a 22-4 edge in shots and a 4-2 edge in corners.

Henry Pharris earned the shutout for Camden Hills after making three saves while Cooper Moran had 12 saves for the Broncos.

“In what felt like a month between games it was great to get back on the pitch and the boys turned in a good performance earning some ever valuable Heal Points,” said Camden Hills head coach Ryan Hurley. “We were very happy to keep a clean sheet and we created a lot of opportunities today that we just missed. We are gaining experience every game and looking forward to our next challenge.”

Hurley called next week’s slate of games a challenging week of games with contests against three of the best teams around.

The Windjammers will start the week Tuesday, Sept. 21 hosting Mount Ararat before traveling Sept. 23 to Edward Little and concluding the week on the road Saturday at Brunswick.
