CAMDEN — There is much to see in and around the Midcoast, but down at the harbors, it's all boats, seagulls and the occasional seal.
Camden Harbormaster Steve Pixley has his own window on the town's briny waterfront world and this week's photo report includes the arrival of dinghies to the municipal floats, the first 155-foot-long visitor and the dirtier side of life on the water. Pixley and others in town also this week heralded the return of the big schooner Appledore, which spends its winters in Key West, Fla.
Appledore had a bit of a rough, problematic sail back to maine over the past week or more, but was properly greeted and ushered home to her berth in Camden Harbor by a blast of cannon fire. Aahhhrrrr...
