Bruce W. Thompson, obituary

Bruce W. Thompson, 60, of Jackson passed away at home on September 19, 2018.  He was born on January 15, 1958 in Bangor the son of Clifford and Marlene (Braley) Thompson. 
 
Bruce attended Mt. View High School class of 1976.  He then completed boot camp, spending time in the Naval reserve before moving to California where he completed school to become a pro golfer. 
 
While there he taught karate to young children and police officers.  Bruce again moved cross country to Florida then Georgia to further his golf career and started his business Card services Inc. and taught skeet shooting. He returned home to Maine to be close to family and pursue his passion for training horses. 
 
Bruce was a lifelong entrepreneur and student, always reading and learning.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing with his parents as well as training his dogs. 
 
He is survived by his parents both of Jackson; his love, Eila Wiseman, and her children Helvi, Aili, Meta, and Goodwin; his siblings, Brian Thompson, of Swanville, and Rochelle Shaw, and husband Phil, of Dayton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and family; his horses Rocky, Ice, Philly, Isaac; and dogs Molly and Lexi. 
 
There will be a Celebration of Life on October 14, 2018 11:30-1 pm at the Varney Building in Brooks. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to an animal rescue of their choice.
