NEWCASTLE — The Camden Hills varsity boys soccer team on Wednesday, Oct. 19 challenged the Brewer Witches at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle and came up short, losing 2-1 in double overtime.
After a scoreless first half thoroughly dominated by the Windjammers, Camden Hills came out strong in the second half with Cam Brown finishing a Colby Bennett cross to take the lead.

In the waning minutes of the second overtime, Brewer earned another free kick outside the penalty area and Andrew Hodgins hit an excellent free kick to win the game.
Camden Hills held the edge in corner kicks 8-2 and shots 31-10.
Brian Leonard made six saves in the 'Jammer net while Grady Vanedistine made 18 saves for Brewer.
Tonight began fabulously as we were able to celebrate our seniors: Max Welt, Lucas Moody, Avery Hackett, Will Eggena, Aaron Stone, Jordan Peasely, Ben Tohanczyn, Will Smith, Lucas Wyman, and Maxwell Gunzeln. They have all been excellent teammates and role models and it was a pleasure to honor them and their parents before our last regular season game.
We played very well again tonight but didn't get the result. We are 95% of the way to being a championship team, we just need to grab that extra 5% when the whistle blows for our first playoff game. It's going to be an excellent tournament and we will be ready to play on Wednesday.
