Boogie for the Babes fundraiser for Pen Bay YMCA childcare
ROCKPORT — The Penobscot Bay YMCA’s Boogie for the Babes, a lively night of music and dancing in support of the Y’s Child Care Program, will take place on Saturday, May 31, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Rockport Opera House.
The evening will feature live performances by two local bands, guaranteed to get everyone on the dance floor, according to the Y, in a news release. Minivan Carpool will kick things off with their signature high-energy set, taking guests on a nostalgic journey through classic hits.
"Following them is The Watts Hall Band, an 11-piece ensemble known for its powerhouse vocals and dynamic instrumentation, which will bring the house down with danceable rock, blues, and R&B favorites," said the Y. "With a full horn section, soulful sax solos, and standout guitar leads, their electrifying performance is sure to keep the energy high all night."
This event is made possible by generous sponsors CedarWorks, Allen Insurance & Financial, Ariel Hall Design, Buttermilk Kitchen, and Journey’s End Marina.
Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased online at penbayymca.square.site. Guests 18+ are welcome. Cash bar for guests 21+.
Proceeds from Boogie for the Babes support the Penobscot Bay YMCA’s Child Care Program, the largest provider of child care in Knox County. The Y serves more than 100 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, offering early education and full day care.
Supporters who aren’t able to attend the event may donate online or mail a check to the Y at PO Box 840, Rockport, Maine 04856.
