Bolduc Correctional Facility employee tests positive for COVID-19

    WARREN — The Maine Department of Corrections administration was notified at approximately 9:30 a.m. on March 31 one of its employees assigned to the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren had tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from the DOC. 

    The individual had not been on-site at the facility, the release noted, since Friday, March 20, and the person had been self-quarantining at home as they awaited their test results. 

    All appropriate State agencies have been notified, including Maine CDC and MEMA, per the release. 

    The CDC has begun the contact tracing for this individual, working in collaboration with staff from the Bolduc Correctional Facility, per the release. 

    Initial findings from the CDC note that anyone the individual had close contact with has been notified, the release said.

    Those contacts who have been directed are self-monitoring for symptoms, per the release. 

    “The DOC is updating the website regularly to ensure information is readily accessible,” according to Randall A. Liberty, the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections. “Today a dashboard was uploaded that includes DOC population totals and testing numbers. This dashboard will be updated around noon each weekday.”
