BELFAST — Belfast Police are warning residents to remove the keys and lock any vehicles not in use following several thefts.

“We have had reports of three different instances in the last two days of residents leaving their keys in their vehicles at night in the downtown area of Belfast and someone taking these vehicles for a ride,” Deputy Chief Gerry Lincoln said in a warning posted to the department’s Facebook page.

Of the three vehicles taken, two have been successfully recovered. The missing vehicle is a black 2016 Acura RDX.

Belfast Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle, or the individuals responsible to contact Belfast Police at 338-2040.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious is also encouraged to call.
