BELFAST — A three-day-a-week homeschool enrichment program called Belfast Adventure Education will be starting in Belfast on October 7.

Learning through place-based skill building, community connections, lived experience, and integration through the arts, the program will run Wednesdays through Fridays, 31 weeks a year.

“Community service, science, art, math, social studies, history, geography, language arts, and ecology are all naturally a part of the rich community and landscape the children will be exploring,” said BAE, in a news release.

Mission Statement: “Belfast Adventure Education hopes to support a creative culture, where students are encouraged and empowered to explore and express themselves in the world. We promote an ethic for expanding our community to include all beings, to foster empathy and compassion within the children who are our future. We honor the history of the land and water on which we live, and the stories within us. We will learn through place based skill building, community connections, lived experience, and integration through the arts. The direction of the program will be responsive to what is of interest and most alive for the group. We believe the heart of education lies in rich experiences of interconnection.”
