Thank you, Lynda, for covering the ordinance changes scheduled for Nov. 5 in Rockport on October 10 in the Pilot. It was quite a treasure hunt to find the wording of these proposed ordinance changes somewhere or anywhere. Contrary to the statement on the town website regarding the whereabouts of these proposed ordinances, I finally found the wording in the Select Board minutes of September, 2024, with the help of the Assistant Code Officer.

The front office staff tried to help, but had no idea where the full texts could be found. 

I am quite puzzled by Article 7: Shall the town adopt a Licensing - Business and Others What does that mean?

Also, I know residents voted in the majority to work with Camden as we try to solve our sewerage needs, yet I see that the Select Board has approved and wishes to authorize a variety of sewer extension lines.

In many instances, Rockport relies on voters to take the recommendations of the Select Board to determine their vote on various issues. I urge all of us to delve into proposed ordinance changes BEFORE we vote, before it is too late! Thank you.
