Barnaby Bright, with special guest Louisa Stancioff, perform in Camden
CAMDEN — Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., welcomes back Barnaby Bright, with special guest Louisa Stancioff, Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
“Now a trio, the acclaimed alt-Americana Barnaby Bright has very contemporary influences that reflect a geographical journey from Brooklyn to Nashville to Kansas, while calling on Nathan Bliss’ Oklahoma roots (and distant relation to Merle Haggard),” said the opera house, in a news release.
The band takes audiences on a ride through love songs, murder ballads and deeply moving, relatable themes.
“Nathan’s virtuosic acoustic guitar and banjo playing and Becky Bliss’ effortless soaring vocals over the drone of the harmonium are joined by Carmen Dieker’s haunting fiddle and violin-playing in a three-part harmony, pushing the boundaries of today’s indie folk landscape,” said the release.
Singer-songwriter Louisa Stancioff will open the evening. The “folk rock singin’ songstress,” is currently touring in support of her debut album, When We Were Looking.
The show is sponsored by Lord Camden Inn and 40 Paper.
Choose-your-own reserved seats are $22 in advance, $25 day-of-show. For tickets, visit camdenoperahouse.com or call the box office at 236-3154.
