Aristide ‘Tony’ Lahey, obituary
ROCKLAND — Aristide “Tony” Lahey, 81, died peacefully Dec. 7, 2015, with his wife at his side, at Sussman House in Rockport.
Born in Les E. Trourtes, Canada, he was the son of Willey and Philemen Lahey. As a young man, Tony was an avid hockey player; playing in leagues until he was 25.
On June 15, 1995, Tony married Judith Young. Together they made their home in Rockland. While living in Rockland Tony was a member of Lodge of Elks #1008, as well as Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion, Post No. 1.
Tony was a hard worker all of his life. For many years he was employed as a woodsman while living in Livermore Falls. Later he worked in the construction business with Union Local #327 in Augusta.
Predeceased by his parents; and two sons, David Lahey and Michael Lahey in September of this year; Tony is survived by his wife, Judith Lahey of Rockland; his sons, Donald Lahey of Livermore Falls and Daniel Lahey of Greene; a daughter, Denise Leath and her husband, Terry, of Galliton, Tenn.; his stepsons, Mark Crockett of Benton and Michael Crockett of Lincolnville; his stepdaughters, Marie Pierce and Maryellen Benner, both of Lincolnville, and Stephanie Thorbjornson and her husband, Edward, of Tenants Harbor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers and their families living in Canada; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tony's life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home.
