Appleton Girl Scouts donate picnic table to local library
APPLETON — On September 5, Girl Scout Troop 2002 kicked off the 2015-16 season by showing appreciation to the Mildred Stevens Memorial Library in Appleton for hosting the Troop’s bi-weekly meetings.
The Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts, ranging in age from six to nine, chose to give the library a picnic table so that patrons may enjoy a book while sitting near the St. George River. The table, donated by Girl Scout member Abby Butler’s family of Butler Woodworking, is inscribed as follows: “Given to Appleton Library in the summer of 2015, by the Appleton Girl Scout Troop 2002 with fond appreciation for the support that the library, its staff and patrons have given to us.”
