SEARSPORT — Anthony J. Tufo, 90, passed away on Feb. 13, 2016, in Belfast. He was born in Boston, Mass., on Nov. 3, 1925, to Ignazio and Stanzia (Colantuono) Tufo. He was a U.S. Marine veteran who served during World War II from 1943-1946.

Anthony owned a construction company in Boston before retiring to Searsport in 2007.

He was predeceased in 2010 by his wife, Mary (Nobilio) Tufo; and in 2012 by a son, Glenn, a Marine veteran. Anthony is survived by his children, Ronald Tufo of Searsport, Gary Tufo of Searsport, Mark Tufo of Swanville and Lyndsey Tufo of Lincolnville; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Tufo of Kernersville, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast. Private interment will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
