ROCKPORT — Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Aldermere Farm will host free farm tours on Fridays at 10 a.m., throughout the summer: 6/21, 6/28, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/9, 8/16, and 8/23.
The tours will be held in Aldermere’s barnyard (20 Russell Ave, Rockport) and led by volunteer docents who will share the history of this 200+ year old saltwater farm that became a preserve of Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) in 1999. Attendees will meet Aldermere’s iconic Belted Galloway herd and the staff and 4-H Club that work with them.
Aldermere beef and information about MCHT’s educational agriculture programs will be available inside Aldermere Farm’s new Visitor Center.
Attendees must wear closed-toe shoes and not bring pets. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Admission is free. Donations are appreciated. Space is limited.
