AIO Food and Energy Assistance to hold open house and food drive, May 21

ROCKLAND — AIO Food & Energy Assistance invites the community – members, volunteers, partner organizations, donors, town leaders, educators, neighbors and anyone who is curious about AIO – to visit their facility at 1A Gordon Drive in Rockland, for a Community Open House on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4 - 6 p.m.

Tours of the market and facility will be available. AIO will be accepting food donations as well. Staff and board will be onsite to discuss AIO’s work and answer any questions guests might have. Catering is generously being provided by the Samoset Resort.

Serving Knox County for more than 30 years, AIO is dedicated to eliminating food and energy insecurity by providing respectful, compassionate, and responsive support to those in need, according to AIO, in a news release.

“The staff and Board are excited to share the breadth and depth of AIO's touch with the community,” said AIO.

Since January 2024:

  • AIO has provided at least one service to more than 7.5% of Knox County residents
  • More than 150 volunteers have spent more than 4,000 hours helping AIO fulfill its mission
  • More than 200,000 pounds of food has been collected and distributed in the Market
  • More than 175 people and organizations have donated food
  • More than 1,375 organizations and individuals have donated funding
