State Economist Amanda Rector will be the guest speaker at next week’s West Bay Rotary meeting. In this capacity, she conducts ongoing analysis of Maine's economic and demographic conditions to help inform policy decisions.
She intends to speak about changing demographic and economic conditions in Maine, mostly a statewide focus but with some regional data as well.
Amanda also is a member of the State of Maine’s Revenue Forecasting Committee and serves as the Governor’s liaison to the U. S. Census Bureau. She started working for the state in 2004 and has been State Economist since 2011.
Guests are always welcome at West Bay Rotary club meetings, which begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. on Thursdays at the Congregational Church meeting room (enter from the parking lot) on Elm Street in Camden.
About West Bay Rotary
West Bay Rotary is celebrating its 38th year of providing “service above self” here in the Midcoast. The club undertakes dozens of community projects as well as fundraising (and “fun-raising”) events, including its annual “Duck Derby,” Chili Challenge, Toboggan Nationals parking, and more. The door for prospective members is always open. The club meets on Thursday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., currently both in-person and via Zoom, and each meeting features a guest speaker.
