It was the prayer of Jesus to His heavenly Father, “And the glory which you gave to Me, I have given to them, that they may be one as we are one” (John 17:22). The glory Jesus is talking about is the Holy Spirit. In His presence, we are one. In His presence, there is no gender, no racism, no discord or division, only His love in the unity of the Spirit.
He also gave us His Spirit so that He could be glorified by the revelation of His power. Only when the power of the Spirit touches the lives of others does it testify of God's wonderous power and love with Kingdom authority.
It is not our programs, events, teaching, or knowledge of Scripture but the supernatural ministry of the Spirit that testifies that our Lord Jesus has risen and that the works He did when He walked this earth continue in and among His people today.
After preaching, many love to state, "We had a blessed service, and we give all the glory to God." We must understand it is the revelation of His Son on display in the power and demonstration of the Spirit that glorifies God, not our preaching and teaching. The function of leadership is to provide a platform for His presence, not our ministry.
