Sales volume across the state continue to rise, with a total of 888 single-family homes sold in March 2024 – an increase of 3.5 percent compared to March 2023. The median sales price also increased, reaching $380,000, a surge of 12.59 percent compared to this time last year. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.

Well, Community Lunches have wrapped up for the summer and will start back up in November.  Brady’s is looking forward to a great summer with the awning going up in a few weeks and our new summer menu hitting the same time.  Chef John has been working hard on a fun healthy summer menu with as much locally sourced as possible. His famous seafood nachos, crab cakes,  & Tuna Poke are all on the list.

A New Law in Maine: Paid Family and Medical Leave Act

In 2023, the Maine Legislature passed "The Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Act." This law will apply to all employers except for the federal government, tribes, and self-employed persons.

Kerin Lindahl of Rockport: A graduate of Saint Anselm College, her previous experience is in banking customer service and education. She is based in Camden

The Lincoln Home is offering a weekly gathering for children ages 0-5, as well as home schooled older children, every Monday at 11:00 am. We  provide toys, books to read and share, and something fun and different each week. Spending quality time with our residents and integrating age groups is so important to all generations. Children bring light, joy and laughter and our residents bring their kindness, sense of humor, and years of wisdom to parents and children alike.

State Economist Amanda Rector will be the guest speaker at next week’s West Bay Rotary meeting. In this capacity, she conducts ongoing analysis of Maine's economic and demographic conditions to help inform policy decisions.

She intends to speak about changing demographic and economic conditions in Maine, mostly a statewide focus but with some regional data as well. 

The month of February saw a statewide uptick in both sales and home prices, due to continued buyer demand and an increase in single-family homes available for sale. Statistics shared by Maine Listings indicate a jump in home sales of 11.44 percent, comparing February 2024 to February of last year. The median sales price increased 7.52 percent, reaching $354,000, during that same period of time. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.
