Elaine E. Foster, obituary
ROCKLAND – Elaine E. Foster, 91, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Windward Gardens in Camden, following a long illness.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., June 10, 1926, she was the daughter of Walter and Emma Kline Ruebeck. She was a graduate of parochial schools in Brooklyn. Prior to her marriage to Edgar C. Foster on April 23, 1950, she worked as a legal secretary on Wall Street.
Following their marriage, the Foster's returned to Maine where they resided most of their married lives on Maverick Street.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, embroidery and gardening.
Other than her parents, Elaine was pre-deceased by her husband in 2007.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Lamb and her husband, John, of Warren; Stephen Foster and his wife, Wendy, of Readfield; Helen Foster and her fiancé, Stephen Little, of Warren; Walter Foster and his wife, Deborah ,of Castine; a sister, Joan Ruebeck of Providence, R.I.; seven grandchildren, Justin, Amy, Aaron, Matthew, Jessica, Eric and Hannah; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at West Rockport Cemetery, Park Street. Father Hyacinth Ndifon Fornkwa will officiate.
