Kennebec Pharmacy robbery one of 29 Knox County grand jury indictments this session
A Knox County grand jury Oct. 8 finished its work for this quarter, resulting in indictments against 29 people on 66 counts. According to the court clerk, there are four indictments that remain secret, which means the indicted individuals have not been arrested or served papers yet.
One of the indictments this session was for Donald R. Keating Jr., 55, of Owls Head, who was indicted for robbery, two counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule drugs (morphine), a class A crime, and stealing drugs (morphine). Keating is accused of robbing the Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care on Sept. 9 in Rockport. Keating is accused of trafficking in 300 or more pills or vials of a narcotic other than heroin, but that contained an aggregate of oxycodone and hydromorphone. This is a Rockport Police Department case.
A list of charges levied against this session's remaining defendants follows below. An indictment does not imply guilt.
Jason M. Adams, 33, of Lisbon, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband and attempted trafficking in prison contraband. Adams is accused of conveying Suboxone to a person in official custody in Warren on April 2. He is also accused of attempted trafficking while in official custody in Warren on April 2. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Jason D. Andrews, 42, of Washington was indicted for assault, aggravated criminal trespass, aggravated assault and criminal mischief. Andrews is accused of entering a home in Washington, assaulting a man and damaging or destroying a table on May 4. This is a Maine State Police case.
Shawn M. Ashley, 23, of Topsham, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband March 8 in Warren. Ashley is accused of obtaining or possessing Suboxone, buprenorphine and/or naloxone. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Jessica L. Batty, 32, of Spruce Head, was indicted for theft by unauthorized taking. Batty is accused of stealing writing implements and DVDs from WalMart in Thomaston on June 20. This is a Thomaston Police Department case.
Tyler Brackett, 20, of Union, was indicted for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs (oxycodone) on March 10 in Warren. This is a Knox County Sheriff's Office case.
Arthur D. Belanger, 32, an inmate at Maine State Prison in Warren, was indicted for aggravated assault and trafficking in prison contraband. Belanger is accused of assaulting another inmate with a shank on Feb. 23, 2013. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
David Carver, 39, an inmate at Maine State Prison in Warren, was indicted for aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (cocaine) on Aug. 18 in Rockland. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Becky Condon, 24, of Spruce Head, was indicted for assault on Aug. 26 in Rockland and violation of condition of release on Aug. 26 in Rockland, where she is accused of committing new criminal conduct. Condon is accused of assaulting a special agent with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. This is an MDEA case.
Joseph R. Cox, 29, of Bryant Point, was indicted for one count each of aggravated forgery, escape and tampering with public records or information on April 1 in Warren. Cox is accused of forging and tampering with a public record or document, as well as leaving or failing to return to official custody following temporary leave granted for a specific purpose or limited period. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Darrell Crosby, 56, of Jefferson, was indicted for two counts of unlawful sexual contact. Crosby is accused of subjecting a female, between the age of 3 and 12, to sexual contact on Dec. 1, 2006, in Owls Head and Nov. 1, 2007, in Rockland.
Elise Daniels, 35, of Union, was indicted for unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (Suboxone) on April 3 in Thomaston, aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (methylphenidate) on April 4 within 1,000 feet of a school or safe zone in Rockland, one count of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (methylphenidate) on April 4 in Thomaston, one count of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (Adderall) on April 17 in Thomaston and one count of attempted unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (cocaine) on April 25 in Rockland. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Hilary Fales, aka Hillary Fales-Haynes, 22, of Owls Head, was indicted for two counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (methylphenidate, brand name Ritalin, among others). Fales is accused of trafficking in the drug on May 13 in South Thomaston and May 14 in Rockland. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
David G. Fleming, 56, an inmate at Maine Correctional Institute in Thomaston, was indicted for assault on an officer. Fleming is accused of assaulting the staff member on June 28 in Warren. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Kimberly Heyer, 35, of Owls Head, was indicted for one count of aggravated forgery. Heyer is accused of defrauding the Maine Department of Health and Human Services by falsely submitting an invoice purportedly for car repairs and seeking reimbursement. This is DHHS Fraud Investigation and Recovery Unit case.
Brandon E. Kavanagh, 29, of Warren, was indicted for operating after revocation, violation of condition of release and improper plates in Thomaston on Sept. 18. This is a Knox County Sheriff's Office case.
Ryan Lane, 21, an inmate at Maine State Prison, was indicted for two counts of aggravated assault on July 21 in Warren. Lane is accused of assaulting another inmate with a cribbage board. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Robert Mason, 24, of Lincolnville, was indicted for three counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin) on two dates in March in Hope within 1,000 feet of a school or safe zone; three counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin) in Union on two dates in March; and one count of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin) one March 12 in Hope. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Christy Nason, 38, of Warren, was indicted for unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (Suboxone) on Aug. 25 in Warren and violation of conditions of release, for allegedly violating a condition of her pre-conviction bail stipulating that she not possess illegal drugs. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Kevin Nelson, 28, of Rockland, was Indicted for four counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (Adderall) on various dates in the towns of Camden, Rockland, Owls Head and Thomaston; one count of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (Adderall) on April 23 in Camden within 1,000 feet of a school or safe zone; one count of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (methylphenidate/Ritalin) on April 4 in Rockland within 1,000 feet of a school or safe zone; one count of unlawful trafficking in schedule Y drugs (diazepam) on April 10 in Rockland; and one count of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (methylphenidate/Ritalin) on April 4 in Rockland. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Briannah N. Parlin, 23, of South Thomaston, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband (suboxone) on Sept. 17 in Rockland, while she was in custody. This is a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency case.
Christina L. Smith, 39, of Cushing, was indicted for theft by unauthorized taking. Smith is accused of stealing more than $1,000 in U.S. currency from J.C Penney's Department Store between May 1, 2013, and April 19, 2014. This is a Rockland Police Department case.
Darrin E. Upton, 32, an inmate at Maine State Prison in Warren, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband (Suboxone) and unlawful possession of schedule drugs (Suboxone), both on April 5 in Warren. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Duane Christopher Waterman, 38, an inmate at Maine State Prison in Warren, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband and attempted trafficking in prison contraband. Waterman is accused of conveying Suboxone, buprenorphine and/or naloxone to himself, and allegedly provided instruction and materials to an outside person with the intent for that person to traffick in prison contraband on Jan. 14. This is a Maine Department of Corrections case.
Mitchell L. White, 40, of Topsham, was indicted for trafficking in prison contraband. White is accused of conveying Suboxone, buprenorphine and/or naloxone to a person in official custody in Warren on March 8. This is a Knox County Sheriff's Office case.
