St. George man remains in critical condition following Thursday crash
ST. GEORGE — A 19-year-old St. George man sustained head injuries after apparently losing control of his car and rolling it late Thursday morning.
Knox County Chief Deputy Tim Carroll said that Vincent hilt was driving a 2005 Jeep sport utility vehicle around 11:10 a.m. Carroll said that Hilt was driving south on Route 131, just south of Route 73, when he lost control. The Jeep was reportedly being operated erratically, said Carroll.
Deputy Matthew Elwell responded to the crash, along with St. George Fire and Rescue.
Hilt was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland by a Lifeflight of Maine helicopter and Carroll said Hilt was last known to be listed in critical condition at the hospital.
He added that the crash remains under investigation.
