Swing into Spring with big band jazz at Watts Hall
THOMASTON — Get ready to dust off your dancing shoes and step into spring with Swing Dance Night, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Watts Hall Community Arts. Located at 174 Main Street in downtown Thomaston, the evening kicks off with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and music starting at 7 p.m., featuring Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra.
"Known to fans as MoJO, this 18-piece Midcoast Maine-based big band delivers a powerhouse performance every time they take the stage," said a news release. "Their dynamic repertoire spans from the timeless sounds of Count Basie and Duke Ellington to modern jazz hits, blending swing, Latin, blues, funk, and more."
The group is composed of local musicians and music educators who not only bring high-energy performances but also work to mentor the next generation of jazz artists.
Tickets are $22 in advance and $27 at the door (if available). Advance purchase is recommended, as Watts Hall dance nights frequently sell out, according to Watts, in a news release.
