Clifford Arts Center hosts Darlin’ Corey and Sara Trunzo Show, April 26
UNITY — The Ecology Learning Center announces Americana music double-header with Darlin’ Corey and Sara Trunzo’s band on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 7 p.m., at The Clifford Arts and Student Center, 42 Depot Street, in downtown Unity. The show is sponsored by Mac’s Hardware.
Darlin’ Corey features the singing and playing of three musicians of the thriving music scene of Portland. Award winning and accomplished fiddler and singer Erica Brown on fiddle, guitar, vocals; songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Shipman on guitar, vocals, mandolin, bouzouki, banjo; and Portland bass player, Kris Day.
"Their music is a unique blend of folk with influences from bluegrass and old time music," said a news release. "Together they create an engaging performance of thoughtful originals, traditional songs and songs that influenced them along the way. With recent highlights including performances at venues and festivals like Stone Mountain Arts Center, Ossipee Valley and collaborations with The Bangor Symphony Orchestra, they continue to captivate audiences across the Northeast and Canada."
Sara Trunzo is a songwriter, community organizer, and host of “Country & Northeastern” on WERU. Her 2019 “Food and Medicine” reached #3 on the Folk Alliance International radio chart and Adobe & Teardrops called her last single “Taking My Power Back”, “political country music at its finest.” Trunzo has collaborated with Darrell Scott and Mary Gauthier; shared stages with Suzy Bogguss and Carlene Carter; and played venues such as The Bluebird, Club Passim, and Birthplace of Country Music Museum. She has been a Joseph A. Fiore fellow, Music to Life juried artist, and received honors from Maine Songwriters Assoc., Tennessee Songwriters’ Week, and Hazel Dickens Contest, and more. She co-founded food security organizations Veggies For All and Waldo County Bounty, and has worked on social justice and environmental campaigns in Maine. Trunzo is on the board of Maine Songwriters Association, Documentary Songwriters, and WERU Community Radio. Her latest single, a cover of Malcolm Holcombe’s “In Your Mercy” was released April 4.
Located at 42 Depot Street Unity, Maine and built from a one hundred year-old barn and farmhouse, the Clifford Arts & Student Center, (The Cliff), formerly the Unity Centre for the Performing Arts, is the Ecology Learning Center's vibrant new public performing arts and film theater, public art gallery, and art studio.
Doors open at 6:30; Show 7:00-9:00PM. The theater is wheelchair accessible. Concessions will be available for sales to support The Cliff.
