Riley School to host STEAM Experience for Girls, April 26
ROCKPORT — Riley School invites girls ages 7-14 to its campus Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., for “The Art and Science of Nature." This free, half-day program is a hands-on, immersive experience that will engage local girls with the world around them on the school’s wooded, 21-acre campus.
"Exploring the beauty of nature through scientific discovery and artistic expression is fundamental to the Riley School mission as we endeavor to teach children the importance of being a good steward to nature," said the Riley School, in a news release. "The interdisciplinary connections between science, technology, engineering, art, and math are critical to the foundational skills children need to construct knowledge."
“We hope this program will ignite an interest in the intersection of science, art, and other disciplines for local girls looking to get creative in nature,” said Annie Hasselgren, Head of School. “Our science and art teachers have created a digestible but comprehensive morning program that includes leaf and insect microscopy, nature sound mapping, animal behavior studies, and more. We hope to see you!”
Families may register here.
