Thomaston Grammar students recognized for honesty in March 2025
THOMASTON — Students at Thomaston Grammar School have been focusing on honesty during the month of March. Several students at TGS were recognized for their honesty at a school-wide assembly on April 1, 2025.
Students receiving the Honesty Award were: Gabe Ross, Izalea Donnell-McLean, Adelaide Walsh, Lettie Robinson, Juleigha Eustis, Ruby Benedict, Kayden Barnard, Andrew Smith, Lily Hatch, Kaiya Clements, Skylar Haynes, Alyvia Baughman, Alyce Hare, Autumn Morin, Brycen Carr, Evelyn Robertson, Ryleigh Gagnon, and Vivien Hedstrom.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for being honest. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a prize, including gift cards donated by local businesses or lunch or a game with Mrs. Riley. This month’s raffle winners were: Adelina Kuras, Giuliana Rubino, Evie Guite, Erik King, Ella Curry, and Alyce Hare.
All of the students receiving the Honesty Award are known to be honest. They are honest, even when it may be difficult to do so. Students who are honest can be trusted to do what is asked of them, to contribute to the group or team, to be loyal to their friends, classmates, and family members, and to tell the truth always. People who are honest share their opinions, but do so in a responsible and respectful way. They often help those around them to understand that honesty is the best policy. They are good examples when interacting with their peers. They are known to be trustworthy in all situations.
Autumn Morin also received the Principal’s Award. Autumn is an amazing member of the TGS community. It is apparent to all that she cares about her fellow classmates and all of the staff members at TGS. She works hard to be an excellent, contributing member of the school community. She is consistently respectful in her interactions with all members of the community.
The assembly concluded with four teams of students “hopping to it” in an Easter Bunny relay. The teams were assembled by the winners of the Honesty Awards. Easter eggs were scattered in the center of the gym floor. Each team sent one person at a time, hopping with an Easter basket and bunny ears, to the center to collect one Easter egg. They then had to hop back to their team and pass off the basket and ears to the next teammate who then hopped to collect an egg, and so on. A timer was set for two minutes. At the end, Team 2, consisting of Lettie Robinson, Andrew Smith, Juleigha Eustis, Skylar Haynes and Ryleigh Gagnon was the winning team with 13 Easter eggs collected!
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on cooperation.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
