Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce closure unfortunate for thousands of tourists seeking information
Sun, 03/23/2025 - 9:06pm
I was a volunteer for the last few years at the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and just heard about the closure as we also live in the winter in Indian Wells, California, as snowbirds.
It seemed sad that no mention of the role in offering tourist information to thousands of visitors was mentioned.
The offices on the Camden landing and downtown Rockland certainly played a role to both businesses in the region and especially the towns of Camden, Rockland and Rockport.
Although online access to tourist sites and businesses is becoming a trend, print information and local residents guiding visitors from around the world was appreciated, as well as phone calls from prospective travelers.
