2025 Rockland Harborside Cleanup in celebration of Earth Day, April 26
ROCKLAND — In celebration of Earth Day, the City of Rockland will host its annual Rockland Harborside Cleanup on Saturday, April 26. The Cleanup is an opportunity to care for Rockland’s shared spaces as a community and reduce the amount of litter and marine debris in and around Rockland Harbor.
The annual event will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., beginning at Harbor Park in Rockland. Cleanup volunteers will be provided with all the tools needed to help collect litter at various locations around Rockland’s waterfront.
“Last year, more than 60 volunteers collected over 4,000 pieces of litter and marine debris from our waterfront, including over 2,000 cigarette butts,” said Jenny Carter, the City of Rockland’s Sustainability and Community Development coordinator, in a news release. “We’re really excited to host this event again this year – it’s a great day to come together as a community to help take care of our shared public spaces and harbor, and it has a huge impact.”
Coffee and breakfast snacks will be served to volunteers in the morning, while local organizations will host tables with program information. At noon, a community cookout for all volunteers will be held to celebrate the day’s work.
