Knox County Democrats to host speakers on immigrant issues in the Midcoast
The Knox County Democratic Committee will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Rockland Public Library.
Guest speakers Kit Harrison and Frannie Wheeler-Berta will discuss critical issues facing immigrants and refugees in the Midcoast. Both are involved in the local community group Connecting Across Cultures, whose mission is to educate the public about immigration and to assist immigrants in the Midcoast to successfully navigate life in the community.
Harrison is also the editor-in-chief and cofounder of Amjambo Africa!, a multilingual publication designed to help New Mainers thrive and Maine welcome and benefit from new neighbors.
