ROCKLAND – Michael Godin has been hired as Rockland’s new patrol officer, according to a press release on the police department’s Facebook page Sept. 26.

Godin grew up in Connecticut before making his journey to Maine, where he attended the University of Maine Orono. While at the university, he studied environmental science and economics as a double major.

He started his law enforcement career in 2020 as a patrol deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

“I have known my whole life that I wanted to pursue a career where I could help people and serve the community,” Godin said in the news release. “The idea that I can make someone’s day a little bit better, or, make the community a little safer has always brought me joy to think about. There are many reasons why Rockland stood out to me, but if I had to sum them up it would be that Rockland is a great place, and Rockland PD is a great agency.”
