911 hang-up results in Camden and Rockport police, county K9 search
ROCKPORT — At approximately 9 p.m. Sunday night, June 13, Knox County Communications Center in Rockland received a 911 hang-up, which prompted several Rockport and Camden police officers to respond to a home on Union Street in Rockport.
They learned upon arrival that a male in distress had left the area. A several-hour search commenced, with the help of a K9 from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
The track was unsuccessful, according to Camden-Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne. Police learned, however, that a friend had made contact with the male, who reportedly left the area and stayed somewhere else.
The matter remains under investigation, said Gagne.
