ROCKPORT — The annual Fore PAWS golf tournament will be in full swing Aug. 14, and the organization is inviting community members to join in on a fun and relaxing afternoon of golf, friendly competition and its exciting golf ball drop event. 

Tickets for the tournament at the Goose River Golf Club are $100 per person, $400 for a team of four.

The event will also feature the PAWS golf ball drop when the organization drops 1,000 golf balls during the tournament. 

For the golf ball drop, community members can purchase as many balls, or chances, for $10 a ball. The person’s ball landing closest to the designated flag will win $1,000 with a prize of $500 going to second closest. 

You need not be present to win prize money for the golf ball drop. 

All proceeds will benefit animals in need at PAWS Animal Adoption Center.
