CAMDEN — The Captain Swift Inn has been awarded the four-diamond rating by AAA. The Inn, which reopened in November 2018 after a complete renovation, has joined the select 6 percent of the 27,000 hotels that AAA rates to attain a four-diamond grade. 

AAA's 4 Diamond Rating is the highest achievement level a bed and breakfast inn can attain and there are currently a total of four, 4 diamond properties in Camden, according to the Inn, in a news release.

Inn owners, Carolyn and Rick Bentzinger, are pleased with the award, according to the release. Carolyn said their goal is to provide guests with an unmatched lodging experience, defined by warm and responsive service; varied amenities and authentic hospitality.

AAA judges visit unannounced every year to assess service and amenities during a minimum 1-hour visit. The AAA program is designed to use professional travel experts and member-driven criteria to quantify and recommend accommodations in the most desired travel destinations.

In addition to being a AAA 4 diamond property, the Inn is also a Select Registry member and a member of HospitalityMaine.
