I am writing to share my whole hearted support for  the upcoming Rockport town vote for the creation of a park for all of Rockport at the former RES site. The Lesher Family Foundation (LFF) has very generously offered a donation to build and maintain a wonderful park.

 

The design is very preliminary, certainly not in stone and will be based on what the citizens of Rockport want the park to be. There will be many opportunities for input and involvement by all ages in the ultimate design. 

 

Here are a few compelling points:

 

• LFF will spend up to $3M on the design and build of a multi-purpose park.  

 

• No tax dollars are required to fund park design or building costs.  

 

• LFF will donate $1 million to the Town of Rockport to be used by the town to fund a project of the town's choosing.

 

• LFF will assist the conservancy as it establishes an endowment to ensure funding for generations to come.   

 

• LFF will contribute to the endowment.  

 

• The town of Rockport will have ownership of the park.
