Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen medical marijuana, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 117 calls for service from Oct. 10-16. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Oct. 11        

    Sgt. Jamie Wilson is investigating a report from a citizen about criminal mischief to one of his truck tires.

    Officer Justin Hills investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 4:11 p.m. Benjamin Anderson, 17, of Washington, was driving a 2005 Jeep utility vehicle. Anderson was traveling northbound following the roadway, lost control and went off the road, striking a well cover. No injuries were reported.

    Oct. 14        

    Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Union Road at 7:51 p.m. George King, 59, of Warren, was driving a 2005 Jeep utility vehicle. King was traveling southbound, went off the road, striking some bushes and trees. No injuries were reported.

    Oct. 15        

    Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 5:06 p.m. Richard Baker, 75, of Waldoboro, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet cargo van. Kristen Travers-Whitmore, 44, of Wiscasset, was driving a 2012 Acura utility vehicle. Travers-Whitmore was headed north and was stopped to make a left-hand turn into the Medomak Veterinary Clinic. Baker was traveling north and failed to navigate around the other vehicle. Baker’s front driver’s corner struck Travers-Whitmore’s rear passenger corner. No injuries were reported.
