Waldoboro Police beat: Domestic violence assaults, creating a police standoff, drug possession
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 93 calls for service from Oct. 31-Nov. 7. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Nov. 1
Duane Makie, 53, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine for assault.
Chief William Labombarde is investigating a report from a citizen that someone broke into his residence and stole tools.
Emily Vitale, 18, of Warren, was arrested by Hesseltine for domestic violence assault.
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Wagner Bridge Rd, at 4:15 p.m. Glendon Meader, 76, of Farmington, was driving a 1999 53-Sterling truck. The second vehicle was a 2015 paving machine belonging to Pike Industries. Meader was traveling northbound following roadway and failed to keep in proper lane, striking unoccupied paving machine. No injuries were reported.
Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 5:21 p.m. Ashlee Hartford, 23, of Nobleboro, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet sedan. Cole Christine, 26, of Alna, was driving a 2007 Saab sedan. Hartford was traveling southbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway and followed too closely and struck Christine’s vehicle, who was also traveling southbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway. No injuries were reported.
Amber Chaisty, 25, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek or domestic violence assault and assault.
Nov. 2
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen who reported that someone vandalized his motor vehicle including his windshield and mirror.
Bartunek investigated an accident on Genthner Road at 9:46 p.m. Alissa Sprague, 34, of Damariscotta, was driving a 2007 Mazda utility vehicle. Sprague was traveling westbound following the roadway on Genthner Road and ran off the roadway, causing damage. No injuries were reported.
Nov. 4
Brian Bennett, 36, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for creating a police standoff.
Joshua Weston, 34, of Wiscasset, was issued a summons by Bartunek for furnishing liquor to a minor.
Nov. 5
Miranda Struk-Miller, 25, of Warren, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Spear for unlawful possession of a scheduled drug.
