Waldoboro Police beat: Arrest warrants, stolen paddleboard, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 291 calls for service from July 31-Aug. 14. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Aug. 1       

    Nickolas King, 28, of Union, was arrested by Officer Thomas Bartunek on a probation violation

    Aug. 6

    Steven Corbett, 43, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek for domestic violence assault.

    Aug. 7

    Bartunek investigated an accident on Bremen Road at 4:25 p.m. Craig Prior, 65, of Bremen, was driving a 2003 Buick sedan with a passenger. Prior was traveling southbound, following the roadway and ran off the roadway. Injuries were reported.

    Aug. 9

    Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of stolen medication.

    Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 1:00 p.m. Ashley LePage, 31, of Jefferson, was driving a 2007 Hyundai sedan. Erwin Hutchins, 95, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2015 Volvo sedan.  Injury codes listed. LePage was traveling eastbound, stopped in traffic and waiting to make a left turn into LaPage Bakery. Hutchins was traveling eastbound, following the roadway and failed to yield right-of-way. Injuries were reported.

    Aug. 10

    Kellen Whitney, 18, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Jeffery Fuller on a warrant.

    Bartunek investigated an accident on the Old Augusta Rd, at 9:42 p.m. Jayden Garrison, 18, of Farmingdale, was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile sedan. Garrison was traveling westbound, following the roadway, lost control, left the roadway and struck a pole, address pole and a fence. Injuries were reported.

    Aug. 12

    Sierra Benner, 30, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for assault.

    Robert Hinrichs, 64, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for operating under the influence.

    Officer John Lash is investigating a report from a citizen about stolen medication.

    Aug. 13       

    Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen about a stolen stand up paddle board.
