Waldoboro Police beat: Accidents, operating after suspension
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 111 calls for service from Aug. 29-Sept. 5. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Aug. 29
Jordan Smerdon, 20, of Bristol, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for operating after suspension, uninspected motor vehicle, and failure to produce proof of insurance.
Aug. 30
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that items have been taken from his mother’s apartment.
Sept. 1
Rashad McKinney, 25, of Augusta, was arrested by Hesseltine on a violation of conditional release.
Hesseltine investigated an accident at the Jefferson Street Atlantic Highway intersection. Marshall Parenteau, 23, of Windham, was driving a 2008 Honda sedan. Joseph Brann, 23, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2000 GMC pickup truck. Parenteau was travelling southbound on Jefferson Street, making an improper u-turn. Brann was travelling southbound, following the roadway and followed too closely, striking Parenteau’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating an accident on the Feyler’s Corner Road at 8:45 p.m. with a 2004 Honda sedan owned by Dimitra Crudell, 24, of Waldoboro. The vehicle was driverless, rolled down the road and flipped over. A passenger in the car was uninjured
Sept. 3
Officer William Bragg is investigating a report from a citizen of criminal mischief done to a trailer.
Sept. 4
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that she is being threatened and harassed.
Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Old Augusta Road at 11:45 a.m. Christian Hoch, 19, of Friendship, was driving a 2012 Toyota pickup truck. Helen Bess, 33, of Beverly, Mass. was driving a 2011 Kia utility vehicle. Hoch was travelling westbound, following the roadway and exceeded the posted speed limit. Bess was travelling east bound starting in traffic and failed to yield right-of-way. No injuries were reported.
Paul Heino, 42, of Warren, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension and violation of conditional release.
Sept. 5
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone stole skirting that was under her father’s trailer.
