WALDOBORO — The first Waldoboro Community Yard Sale of the season is Memorial Day Weekend with over two dozen businesses and homes participating. The Waldoborough Historical Society will have printed maps for people who want them, as will Good Things Thrift & Crafts. Online the map is available at tinyurl.com/Waldoboro.

A couple of the special events include multiple sellers at the Historical Society, a bake sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Good Things to raise money for Broad Bay Church Outreach, and a plant fundraiser at White Duck Farm at 112 Duckpuddle Rd. Young flowering annuals will be sold to raise funds for the McKinney-Vento program at RSU 40 which helps students who struggle with housing.

Both the printed and digital maps let shoppers know some of the highlighted items. There is more food at 712 Union Rd., for example, while a home at 626 W. Main St., has hundreds of wood and plastic model kits.

Many are open rain or shine, while some are dry weather only. It’s possible to do a couple of loops around sections of town to visit all of the sales, according to Rebecca Waddell, in a news release.
