Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: OUI, distracted driving
BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity March 22 - 30. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
March 22
Carsten Geisel, 35, of Winterport, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Fort Knox Road in Prospect.
March 23
Matthew A. Colby, 32, of Brooks, was issued a summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle (150+ days) on Route 7 in Waldo.
Sadie L. Nickerson, 20, of Frankfort, was issued a summons for operating under the influence on North Main Street in Winterport.
Matthew Webber, 21, of Monroe, was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance on Bangor Road in Prospect.
March 25
Deputy David Wight responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Route 173 in Searsmont where an operator lost control of their vehicle after being distracted by scenery. The driver of the 2006 Honda said they were looking at a frozen lake and failed to navigate a slight left turn. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a snowbank before continuing on to strike a utility pole, which it split in two. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage and the operator sustained a non-incapacitating injury to the neck. They were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
March 26
Deputy Wight responded to the scene of a deer v. vehicle accident on Route 1 in Northport. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed at the operator’s request. The driver was uninjured.
March 27
Deputy Wight responded to the scene of a deer v. vehicle accident on South Main Street in Searsmont. The driver was uninjured an the vehicle sustained minor damage.
March 29
Karen K. Dyer, 36, of Lincolnville, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Lincolnville Road in Belmont.
