UMaine Extension offers webinar on integrated pest management for greenhouses
Event Date
Thursday, December 10, 2026 - 06:00 pm to 07:15 pm
University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host an interactive webinar on integrated pest management (IPM) in greenhouse production for growers on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 6 - 7:15 p.m.
“Greenhouse IPM Across Growing Systems” will explore the foundational principles of integrated pest management and how they can be applied across a range of growing environments, from high tunnels with living soil to highly controlled indoor systems. Hillary Peterson, Integrated Pest Management specialist with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, and Anna Wallingford, entomologist with New Hampshire Community Supported Research, will lead the webinar.
Participants will learn practical approaches to pest prevention, monitoring and management, including biological control, and how these strategies can be adapted to different growing systems and production conditions. The interactive session also will provide opportunities for participants to share questions and challenges that can help shape a follow-up webinar. Eligible for 1 Maine pesticide recertification credit. The webinar is part of UMaine Extension’s Commercial Horticulture Webinar Series.
Registration is required; sliding scale fee options are available. Register on the event webpage to attend live or receive the recording link.
