Two injured in Stockton Springs collision
STOCKTON SPRINGS — Two people were injured in a Nov. 19 collision involving two vehicles on Old County Road.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Merl Reed responded to the scene, where a 2014 GMC truck had stopped in traffic waiting for an opportunity to turn. While stopped in the roadway, the vehicle was rear ended by the operator of a 2000 Dodge Dakota.
Neither the driver of the Dodge, nor their 17 year old passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision and both were thrown into the windshield on impact.
Both victims were treated on scene by Stockton Springs Fire and Ambulance and the vehicles were towed.
It was discovered during the course of investigation that the driver of the Dodge was operating after suspension and he was issued a summons for the offense. He was also given a citation for a seat belt violation.
