Trolling of filth and hatred has no place here

I am disgusted by the recurring homophobic nastiness in the words of "Philadelphia Lawyer,” (PL) who shares his/her comments from behind a pseudonym. PL recently made comments regarding the January 31 reporting on the Rockport Hotel controversy.
This trolling of filth and hatred has no place here....or anywhere else. Prejudice and intolerance is malignant. Anonymity is cowardly. I see that PL has posted 15 comments on PenBay Pilot but places them behind the optional "Private" status. I've seen other remarks PL has written and they are along the same low lines. PL invalidates their own argument with toxicity. THAT'S what does not belong here in Rockport.
I hope that PenBayPilot.com will do a more rigorous job of cleansing overt hate and prejudice from its pages. I have long considered PBP, as well as our other local papers, a community treasure. Your pages — and the others – offer a vital place to learn from and with others. Free-willed expression of thought is critical here, as it is anywhere else in a democracy, but when it descends into a hate-filled guttertalk it needs to be removed from intelligent discussion.
The way life should be.
