Thomaston Municipal Building closed Jan. 4-5 amid COVID-19 case

    THOMASTON — The Thomaston Municipal Building, located at 13 Valley Street, will be closed today, Jan. 4, and tomorrow, Jan. 5, for deep cleaning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from the town office. 

    Four other employees working in the building are quarantining.

    The closure also means the Economic Development Committee and Select Board Joint Workshop for Wednesday, January 6 has been postponed to an undetermined date.

    The Municipal Building will be deep cleaned by a cleaning company before reopening to the public, the release noted.

    It is uncertain if offices will be closed longer than two days; however, the Town will notify the public if there is an extension of closure.

    Online services are available for residents to renew their vehicle registrations, dog registrations, hunting & fishing licenses, and ATV& snowmobile registrations. Please visit the Town’s website at thomastonmaine.gov.
