A Waldo County teenager was arrested July 31 and charged with class C terrorizing with a dangerous weapon after allegedly threatening Mount View School via social media.

Kevin J. Randall, who turned 18 April 4, was charged following an investigation led by Waldo County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan Tozier, who works as the Thorndike school’s resource officer.

The investigation identified Randall as the person who posted a photograph of a firearm on social media and wrote a threat “directed at Mount View School,” according to a media report issued Aug. 3. He is a former student of Mount View.

Randall was reportedly arrested without incident and posted bail after seeing a judge Aug. 1. He was released on $500 cash bail.

Randall must abide by the terms of a Maine Pre-Trial contract and is next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 11.
