Story Walk at Belfast City Park to be unveiled

Event has passed

BELFAST — There is a new Story Walk attraction for families in the City Park in Belfast on Northport Avenue. The Story Walk installation allows for literacy and exercise while families walk the loop trail in the park. Each of the sixteen stops on the trail share two pages of a storybook.

While the walk will soon be available during park hours, on Monday, October 16, at 10 a.m., Belfast Free Library will be celebrating the fall storybook, A Bad Day by Frann Preston-Gannon, and all are invited to join this grand opening party.

Meet at the small bridge to the playground in City Park for refreshments, a puppet show and a craft. Then families will take the first walk (or run) of the picture book chosen for the fall season. Stories will be switched out periodically.

The Story Walk installation was made possible with funding from the Belfast Free Library's Friends of the Library and First National Bank Wealth Management. City Parks and Recreation installed the sixteen stops on the trail and maintain this beautiful setting.
