South Thomaston Conservation Commission hosts clean-up day, Oct. 5
SOUTH THOMASTON — The South Thomaston Conservation Commission will host a Clean-Up on Buttermilk Road on Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. until Noon.
"We’re concentrating on Buttermilk because it really needs cleaning up, although volunteers should feel free to pick up on their own street and bring collected bags of litter to the Gilford Butler Center (GBC) or the Weskeag Preserve parking lot (six-tenths of a mile from Rte. 73 on Buttermilk)," said the commission, in a news release.
At both sites safety signage, litter grabbers, bags, and gloves will be available.
"Think about it, you can make a difference on your street, then head to Buttermilk to join the big effort – or just pitch in on Buttermilk (stop by the GBC let us know who you are and get your road section assignment)," said the release. "Bring a friend, bring a relative, bring the whole family, but at least bring yourself."
